Criminal Background
The individual Dan B. Cooper was stated by witnesses to be lacking in any distinctive features. He was said to be wearing a business suit, white shirt and a black J.C. Penney tie which he left behind on the plane. More than 800 suspects were interviewed but none of them seemed to fit. All that was left was the witness description and his black tie. It is also suggested that he might have simply died given that in 1980 a young boy found a rotting box of around $5,000 in twenty dollar bills that matched the ransom money serial numbers.
